What Overnight Doula Support Looks Like with Sweet Embrace Doula in Boulder & Denver, Colorado

The early weeks with a newborn are tender, beautiful… and often exhausting. Overnight support can feel truly invaluable — offering space for sleep catch-up, physical recovery, and meaningful time with your partner.

When you invite Sweet Embrace Doula into your home in Boulder or Denver, you’re choosing calm, attentive, professional care through the night — so you can truly rest.

Here’s what overnight support includes and what a typical night looks like.

Arrival & Evening Check-In

When I arrive in the evening, we begin with a grounding check-in. I’ll ask about:

  • How the day went

  • How you’re feeling physically and emotionally

  • Baby’s feedings and sleep patterns

  • Any concerns or changes

  • Your goals for the night

Some nights you may need longer stretches of uninterrupted sleep. Other nights you may want more support around feeding or soothing. Each shift is personalized to meet you where you are.

Feeding Support Throughout the Night

Your feeding goals are honored and supported.

  • Bottle-feeding: I feed baby throughout the night, track amounts, burp, and resettle.

  • Breastfeeding: I gently bring baby to you when it’s time to nurse, then handle burping, diaper changes, soothing, and laying baby back down so you can return to sleep quickly.

  • Combination feeding: We create a flexible rhythm that supports both rest and supply.

No matter the plan, I remain attentive to baby’s cues and needs.

Full Newborn Care

Throughout the night, I provide complete, responsive newborn care, including:

  • Feeding

  • Burping

  • Diaper changes

  • Soothing and comforting

  • Swaddling (if desired)

  • Laying baby down safely to sleep

Your baby is never left to “figure it out” alone. I stay present, observant, and responsive, creating a calm environment that supports healthy sleep patterns over time.

Light Household Reset (Baby-Focused)

During quieter stretches, I may:

  • Fold baby laundry or household laundry

  • Catch up on dishes

  • Wash bottles and pump parts

  • You wake up not only rested, but to a space that feels lighter and more manageable.

Morning Handoff at 6 AM

Around 6:00 am, we transition care back to you.

Before I leave, you’ll receive:

  • A detailed written list of care from the night (feeding times and amounts, diaper changes, sleep stretches, notes on temperament or patterns)

  • Any gentle observations or suggestions if requested

  • A quick verbal recap so you feel fully informed

You begin your day confident in how the night went — without having to piece it together through exhaustion.

The Heart of Overnight Support

Overnight care with Sweet Embrace Doula is about more than tasks — it’s about nervous system regulation for the whole family.

Families in Boulder and Denver often share that overnight support helps them:

  • Recover more fully postpartum

  • Reduce anxiety around nighttime

  • Strengthen their partnership

  • Feel less isolated

  • Build confidence in caring for their baby

Even one or two nights per week can dramatically shift how the newborn phase feels.

You deserve rest. You deserve steady support. And you deserve to feel held, too.
