I am so glad you are here!

Welcome! My name is Ali Sugarman (She/Her). I’m a Full Spectrum Doula, Holistic Practitioner & Mama.

My purpose is assisting birthing people and their partners as they transition into parenthood by offering them the tools, information and support they need to achieve a positive, nurtured experience.

My holistic health background allows me to incorporate and honor the mind-body-spirit connection into my practice, while simultaneously respecting allopathic medicine and all it has to offer. Teaching mindfulness and the innate wisdom of the body is something I really enjoy sharing with my clients. Whatever your path and preferences, I am honored to be a part of the magic of this season.

I believe that birth is natural and normal and that our bodies are primed for it. That being said, birth is unpredictable and I aim to educate my clients about the numerous possibilities that could take place. My primary goal is to reduce fear and create safe, peaceful environments for the transition from womb to world.

Why are you a doula?

I love being in the birth space, there is nothing quite like it! Seeing women and birthing folx in their power, listening to their bodies, connecting with their partners and babies- it is truly inspiring and humbling. I get to use all of my skills, tools, and nurturing presence as a doula AND I get to work with people in such an intimate way. I have made lifelong connections, and I am grateful every day that this work found it’s way to me.

Outside of caring for new families, I love live music, dancing, eating good food, and spending time with my husband & son. Being a part of nature, hiking and just BEING with the trees fills my cup. (Living in the mountains in Gilpin County offers bountiful opportunities for this!). I am passionate about developing a relationship with myself and practicing self care, which I bring into my doula work.

Kind Words from a First Time Mama

Ali was an incredible support for both my partner and I for the birth of our first baby. She helped us feel prepared for labor ahead of time and was super flexible when it came to scheduling appointments. During labor, she was a calming and reassuring presence, providing just the right amount of guidance while still very much allowing for a mother-led/undisturbed birth. She also attended and helped out at my Blessingway, which was incredibly special. We are so grateful for her!
